This is an intervention in a park located in the expansion area of the town of Mollerussa.

We work with boundaries in every sense.

We expand the limits of the area of intervention to decongest and give public space back to pedestrians. We want to create a more pleasant connection between the canal and the park.

We introduce a road where vehicle traffic will be restricted, using an old pathway that acts as the main structural axis. It connects the different facilities bordering the park, such as: municipal swimming pools, health center (CAP), sports courts and pavilion. Along this route, a series of spatial expansions are created that serve as lobbies for each of the previously mentioned facilities.

The boundaries between open spaces are treated with opaque fences when privacy is needed, or with visually permeable fences when what we need is simply protection against intrusion.

The boundaries with neighboring buildings gain strength as we treat them with artistic interventions (local artists), and we also create a porch with a service area that includes a glazed room from which users can enjoy the park when weather conditions do not allow them to stay outdoors. This space will bring life to a corner that until now remained in a more residual part of the area.

We try to preserve the general structure of the trees, as they shape the space and provide shade and freshness to the environment. A hard but permeable pavement is placed at the entrances from Crta. Miralcamp and C. Tarragona. This configuration is complemented by circular structures that will house services such as the kiosk, bar, restrooms, etc. The circular form comes from an integration with the organic nature of the environment.

The park is conceived as a whole, but a series of "micro-spaces" are also created that can be used independently. This way we respond to different groups, providing multipurpose spaces for events, various children's areas, bleachers for performances, a climbing area, petanque area. We propose a closed-off area of the park that can be regulated in terms of security.

Our motto is "Stop, breathe and enjoy", and we hope that the people of Mollerussa will embrace this philosophy in such a dynamic space.
